In her later life, Nightingale wrote “Notes on Nursing” for new mothers, to teach them the value of working within principles of hygiene, and health care. These principles, sadly, are often missing from modern medicine today. Nightingale was clearly a Renaissance woman, understanding the vital importance of fresh air, food, water; and quietude, for healing.
